We're an independent, locally-run guide to Chatswood — built by people who live, eat and shop here, for everyone trying to make the most of Sydney's North Shore.
What Chatswood.net is
Chatswood.net is a hand-kept directory and guide to the best of Chatswood: the food, the shopping, the local services and the things to see, do and book. We're not a council site, a franchise, or an automated scraper — just locals who got tired of sending the same recommendations to friends and decided to write them down.
Who's behind it
Chatswood.net is run by a small, independent team based on the lower North Shore. Between us we've spent years queuing for dumplings, comparing the two malls, ferrying kids to tutoring and tracking down a good plumber — so the recommendations here come from genuine local experience, not a press release.
How we choose what to list
Our goal is to be the guide we'd want ourselves. So:
- Local first. We list businesses that genuinely operate in Chatswood and the surrounding North Shore.
- Recommended, not advertised. Standard listings are free and editorial — a business can't pay to be called good.
- Licensed & legitimate. For trades and regulated services, we ask for the relevant NSW licence details.
- Kept current. We review listings regularly and remove places that close or consistently let people down.
- Clearly labelled. Anything sponsored or affiliate-linked is marked Featured so you always know what you're looking at.
How we stay free (and make money)
Chatswood.net is free to use and always will be. We cover our costs in two transparent ways:
- Affiliate links on some stays and tours — if you book through them we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you.
- Optional Featured listings for businesses that want more visibility — always clearly labelled.

Where we cover
